Our knowledge of Japan begins with my husband's childhood. Born to first-generation immigrants in NYC, he spent his summers growing up in his relative's Unagi shop in Kyoto at the historic Nishiki food market. In 2007, we were married in Kyoto at Heian Jingu (shrine) and now continue to explore cities, gardens, onsens, art installations, and rural areas, finding little gems off the beaten path. We share our favorites quietly and sparingly so they don't lose their authentic qualities.

We aim for destinations that reward you the most for the effort you put into making a trip.

We suggest booking a 1- or 2-hour meeting in person or via Zoom for a travel consultation. We are happy to organize your travel beyond the initial meeting if needed. Occasionally, we can meet up with you for an excursion in Japan.
